On the evening of May 22, the 645-foot
super tanker Western Clipper pulled in-
to port at Whale Bay. One of the larg-
est vessels ever to come to Iceland, she
sailed eight days from Norfolk, Va., to
ji up a load of oil for transport to
iport, R.I. Her capacity is 250,000
rels or about one and a quarter mil-
ion gallons.

Skip Hagelund places eighth in all-Navy
NavCommSta's Richard P. (Skip) Hagelund has recently made his spare-
time bowling pay off by qualifying for his third all - Navy tournament
in San Diego, Calif.
After bowling in a mixed league at the Keflavik naval station, he
entered the First Naval District tournament at Quonset Point, R.I.,
where, among 45 bowlers, he placed in the top six. Next, in North At-
lantic regional competition in Newport, R.I., he again made the top
six and was on his way to San Diego for the all-Navy finals.
Returning last week with a 24-game average of 196, Hagelund finished
eighth among 24 bowlers, and his team placed second in San Diego.
