hildren’s Corner:
A Ball Game
The children were happy and
cheerful
and ran right away out to the
yard.
With Kolur jumping afterthem
barking: "Woof, woof, woof."
"See this Arni, Kolur is happy
now,"
said Erna.
"Yes," said Arni,
"let us play with him.
Should we play ball?"
"Yes, yes, let us play ball
and we will let Kolur play with us,
said little Anna.
Boltaleikur
Börnin voru kát og
glöð
og hlupu strax út í garð.
En Kolur stökk á eftir þeim
og sagði: „Voff, voff, voff."
„Sjáðu Árni, nú er Kolur
kátur,"
sagði Erna.
„Já," sagði Árni,
„við skulum leika við hann.
Eigum við að koma í
boltaleik?"
„Já, já, komum í boltaleik
og höfum Kol með,"
sagði Anna litla.

Arni threw the ball.
He hopped and jumped.
"Woof, woof," said Kolur
and ran afterthe ball.
Kolurtook the ball
and carried it to Anna.
Arni threw the ball again
and again.
And Koluralways barked
"woof, woof"
and fetched the ball.
He always gave it to Anna.
"Kolur is good," said Anna
She gave a big sugar cube
to Kolur
Kolur liked that.
Árni henti boltanum.
Hann hoppaði og skoppaði.
„Voff, voff," sagði Kolur
og hljóp á eftir boltanum.
Kolur tók boltann
og bar hann til Önnu.
Árni henti boltanum aftur og
aftur.
Og Kolur sagði alltaf: „Voff,
voff"
og sótti boltann.
Hann lét Önnu alltaf fá hann.
„Kolur er góður," sagði Anna.
Hún gaf Kol stóran
sykurmola.
Það þótti Kol gott.
