SUMMARY Observations on soil temperatures in Iceland by Bjarni IJelgason University Research Inslitule, Departement oj Agnicullure, Reykjavík. The purpose of the paper is to collect into one all available information on soil temperature measurements in Iceland. After a general introduction to the subject the reader is referred to some of the more important papers dealing with soil temperature studies in the Arctic and sub-Arctic. The introduction is followed by a survey of previously published soil temperature data (Tables 1—4), mostly collected by the Meteorological Bureau
