BANTAM SIZE—Though not much bigger than the bat himself, little
T. Jones takes a mighty poke while P. Scott and umpire Chief Jones
watch the ball sail.
Little League Caps Season
With All-Star Double-Header
by D. J. McNamara
The All-Star teams looked real good, even playing on a
cool day. The big day of baseball was started off by the
eight-to-elevel-year-olds. In this game the “D” team,
coached by Wright, beat the “C” team, coached by Suisse,
by a 19 to 8 score.
It was a well played game, more so than the score would
indicate. Rogers, Misner and Jones combined for the win,
with Hoffman, Bush and Voorhees'^
taking the loss.
In the second half of the double-
header, the bigger boys had a
chance to show their stuff playing
on balanced teams. Henderson,
coaching the “A” team, succumbed
to the “B” team, coached by
Marse. The margin of victory was
10 to 4 score.
Winning Pitcher
Grover, with good support from
his teammates, was the winning
pitcher while Babnau and JPierre
combined for the losing team. This
game showed what these boys can
do playing in strictly their own
age group.
Soper had a triple and Grover
a solid double. The biggest thrills
some daring baserunning, however,
some daring base, however.
Fine Teamwork
The day was topped off by some
fine teamwork by the Little Lea-
gue mothers. Their combined ef-
forts kept the chow lines running
smoothly in the banquet which fol-
lowed the game. It was during
this banquet that the players, coac-
hes, umpires and managers were
presented their awards for their
individual efforts during the sea-
son.

target date for Little League
practice to start again.
OFF AND RUNNING—Little Doug
Soper takes off at the crack of the
bat while first baseman Bob Litke
can do little but watch. With legs
his size it took Doug a lot of steps
to reach second, but he did....
safely.
