IDF Teamwork Does The Job
THE MAN BEHIND THE SCENES
— Keeping Marine Guard Ve-
hicles always ready for action and
constant alerts is PFC Gerald R.
Radovic, USMC. Radovic is 20 years
old and has been at Keflavik since
Dec. 1964. Unware of Radovic’s
talents as a mechanic, he was
placed in the Guard Platoon. He
started working at Motor Tran-
sport due to shortage of technical
personnel in May 1965. He is now
one of the top marine mechanics
at Motor Transport. Radovic’s
home is in Detroit, Mich., with
his mother.
WINTER ALREADY? — Einar
Jonsson checks out the snow re-
moval equipment in anticipation of
the coming winter. Jonsson is a
second line supervisor in the Heavy
Equipment and Maintenance Shop
of the Transportation Department.
On Aug. 18, Jonsson and his crew
received a certificate for a year of
no-lost-time due to accidents.
Jonson was recently made a
leading man for his many years of
service. Jonsson has worked on the
base since 1947. He is a resident of
Ytri Njardvik where he lives with
his wife and five children.
YOUR ORDER PLEASE — Pre-
paring the noon meal can be an
unpleasant chore but if Third
Class Commissaryman Fredrick G.
Sykes doesn’t enjoy it, he never
lets you know about it. Upon ar-
rival in Keflavik on July 17,
Sykes was assigned to the hospital
galley. He spends his off duty
hours as a cook in the Viking
Club. Sykes is single and hails
from Watertown, N. Y. He is a
sports car racing buff and plans
to buy a car while he is stationed
here. Sykes has been in the Navy
for six years and plans to make it
a career.
