Pail* Threatens! Rout:
Dorsey, Tor beck
by Bob Varyo
Elton Dorsey and Clate Torbeck took a record 17 points
in their match Sept. 22 against Larry Becher and Fred
Boll and they moved into a 17 points lead in the Intramural
Scratch league.
Dorsey cut loose with a booming 643, the highest series
for the year, and Torbeck added a 514 while Becher and
Boll were able to salvage only 1^
point.
Second place John Emmert and
Clint Neal picked up 11% but
still lost ground to the leaders.
Emmert tossed a big 615 to go
along with the 505 by teammate
Neal to overcome a fine 561 by
Norm Martin and a 490 by Tom
Hockett, who could only manage
2% points. Martin was subbing
for Joe Ralph and would have
been in good shape if his op-
ponent had not been Emmert.
Other Team Scores
In other matches’ Bob Vargo
and Marty Carr took 7 points
while dropping 5 to Ed Hunt and
Tom Thompson. Dave Nadolski
continued his steady rolling _ with
a 574 and his partner Bill Burger

grab 10 points while dropping 2
to Neal Taylor and Paul Lafond.

went to Dorsey with his 243 game
and 643 series. Close behind was
Emmert with his game of 214
and series of 615.

These same men along with
Nadolski are waging a battle for

ing now with a 192. Breathing
down his neck is Dorsey with a 191

spectable 175.

day at 5:15.

Basketball Season Opens Up;
Five Way Tie For Top Slot
The beginning of the intramural basketball league started
Sept. 20 and judging from the first week’s action, it should
prove to be an exciting season for all.
Three teams have stood out in play so far and they are
the Marine team, AFI and Admin/Sec with Medical also
showing a good bench and the top scorer in the league.

over their rivals by the score of
50 to 36. The halftime score was
30—to—19.
AFI blasted the High School

found Rockville entertaining the
IKF team, which is composed of
Icelanders working on base. IKF
had a 20—to—12 lead after half-
