Iceland’s KR Club
Tangles With Sweden
European basketball will be at its finest Sunday after-
noon when the KR Athletic Club of Iceland meets Sweden
in an international tournament game at the Station Field
House.
Game time is 4 p.m. for the first contest in a best-of-two
series.
The Icelandic team, coached by SSgt. Phil Bensing of the
57th Fighter Interceptor Sq„ made'^
its way into the tournament of
European champions by taking
this country’s basketball crown
with a record of 15 wins against
no losses.
The winner of the Iceland-
Sweden series will go on to play
Spain in the second round of play.
This is the first year in the
tournament of champions for the
KR Athletic Club, Says Coach
Bensing. Sergeant Bensing took
over the team this season after
the departure of another Air
Force man and coach, SSgt. Tom
Robinson.
The two-game series is a home-
and-home affair with the two
squads moving to Stockholm on
Nov. 11 for the second contest.
Should the teams split the series
in victories, then total points in
the two games will be the factor
in deciding who should meet
Spain in a higher tournament
bracket.

The Radio Log
by Mick Spillane, YN3
A complete changeover of our
present radio schedule will be put
into effect over Armed Forces
Radio, Nov. 15. Next week’s log
will feature these changes.
History sets the scenes for the
new program designed for your
listening pleasure. Weekdays at
2:05 a.m., a new program in social
studies entitled “By The People”
replaces “Theatre Five.”
This week 1484 will present
such stories as “The Burning Of
Washington,” “The San Francisco
Earthquake” and “The Story Of
The Wright Brothers” plus other
exciting tales.
On Sundays’ at 4:30 p.m. “98
Days” will make way for “Hori-
zons West.” It was the foresight
and vision of our third president,
Thomas Jefferson, which helped
make the United States the great
nation it is today.
The purchase of the Louisiana
Territory in 1803 was the most
notable act of his administration
and one of the most far-reaching
in our history.
The Louisiana Purchase and the
Lewis and Clark Expedition made
the great Northwest “America.”
A considerable amount of credit
for this belongs to Thomas Jef-
ferson.
“Horizons West” centers around
this great man and the tales of
how the Louisiana Purchase was
acquired.
FILM STARLET—Miss Deborah
Walley, one of Hollywood’s pret-
