ion after Pearl Harbor.
In July, 1943, she
married Lt. David Fren-
ch, AAF pilot, who was
reported misBing in ac-
tion.
Within the past month
Mrs. French has learned
that Geer is living and
returning home and that
second husband French
is in a German prison
camp.

Declaring that it is
an "ungrateful" method
of disposing of "dogs
that have served their
country," the Amerioaa
Humane Sooiety and the
SKA have taken issue
with the War Dept, pro-
posal to sell a thou-
sand Army dog 6 whioh
will be mustered out of
the servioe on January
first.
Since many of the fo-
rmer owners will be un-
able to furnish the do-
gs with homes, the War
Dept, has decided to
sell them for a dollar
each.
The groups do not ap-
prove, however, as it
is felt the pooches
shouldn't be treated
"like broken down armor
and surplus food
