Pin-ups have assumed a unique and unusual place
in the life of the average American serviceman. To
men, sailing the many seas, fighting on far-flung
battlefronts or standing guard at vital outposts like
Iceland, these glamourized pictures of young and
beautiful American girls bring a touch of home—a
longing for things as they used to be before the war
broke out. Reprinted on this page are nine of the
most popular pin-ups which have appeared in The
White Falcon during 1944. These choices were deter-
mined by a count of the “ooh’s” and “aah’s” of the
guys at the various ARC clubs.
