Tina Jozwiak recently received
| the first Navy validation visit
|in Europe for the National
Association of Family Child Care
|(NAFCC) accreditation process.
| Accreditation is designed to rec-
fognize high quality child care in
I family child care homes. A CDH
[provider who chooses to become
{accredited as Tina Jozwiak has,
f recognizes the importance of a
’ child’s early years and works to
provide a standard of excellence that both nurtures and educates
young minds. Tina has been working through the accreditation pro-
cess for the past eight months and the final step was to have a vali-
dator come from NAFCC to verify the high quality standards in her
home.
Tina Jozwiak is a member of the Child Development Homes
Program in addition to being a member of the National Association
for Family Child Care. NAFCC is the largest association in
America representing family child care and, as such, serves as the
national voice for the profession.
NAFCC Accreditation defines standards of quality for the pro-
fession of family child care, covering the following content areas:
Relationships, Environment, Activities, Developmental Learning
Goals, Safety and Health, and Professional and Business Practices.
It also helps parents and policy-makers recognize high quality care.
Accreditation is awarded for a period of three years, after which
time the provider must re-accredit if they wish to maintain their
status.

School, has accumulated 44 hours of after
school tutoring through the Teen Center

program, mentoring younger teens and
