Ályktun sú, sem dregin er af
þessum rannsóknum er, að þótt
ekki liafi tekizt að gera þessa
tækni nothæfa að svo stöddu,
í ofannefndum lilgangi, þá er
liún enn á tilraunastigi og kann
að reynast gagnleg i framtiðinni
sem tæki i kliniskri sjúkdóms-
greiningu og rannsóknarstörf-
um.

Summary.
The literature is reviewed regard-
ing the metabolism of zinc and
copper, with a special reference to
the pancreas and liver.
Positron emitting Zn62 and Cu64
are investigated for their possible
use in the diagnosis of diseases of
the pancreas and the liver by the
technique of positron scanning.
The conclusion drawn from this
study is that although this techni-
que has not proven successful at
present for the application to diag-
nosis of diseases of the pancreas
and liver, it is still in an experi-
mental stage and may be proven
to be of value in the future as
a tool in clinical diagnosis and re-
search.
