Art enthusiast pleased
Dear Editor,
I am pleased to see that an
artist has been added to the
staff. I am very interested in
the arts and hope that some in-
formative articles are written.
I would be particularly interest-
ed in hearing about coming exhib-
its of Icelandic art, the location
of art galleries and the location
of stores carrying art supplies.
And what about the base having
an art exhibit? I'm sure that
there are many talented people on
this base, both personnel and de-
pendents, and also people who
would like to see their work.
I liked his statement, "I will
make laughing stocks of those

Also, I don't agree with many

Good luck,Ken.

Haphazard mobile canteen
Dear Editor,
At times the exchange operates
a mobile canteen. At times the
exchange does not operate a mobile
canteen. Being curious as to
why, I called the exchange office
several times and was told the
driver was sick. It seems he is
sick quite a lot.
What I would like to know is
why the exchange doesn't have a
driver to fill in for the sick
man. What does the exchange in-
tend to do if the present driver
dies? Sell the truck?
I know it sounds ridiculous to
depend on a haphazard schedule
of a "roach coach" for lunch, but
there are people in AFI who do,
and we would sure like to see the
service improved.
Sincerely,
SSgt. Robert L. Grigsby

Doors to be replaced
Occupants of Quarters 1052-A
through 1087-F and 1005—A through
1008-F are advised that work will
begin the week of February 8 to
replace all outer doors of their
Quarters.
For those families living in
four-bedroom units it will be
necessary to have someone present
while work is completed. These
occupants will be notified in ad-
vance of the time the contractor
will begin work.
Completion of the 300-door
project depends on the weather.
Warming trend
February signals the arrival
of warmer weather...really. This
month, as the daylight hours in-
crease, a seasonal warming trend
begins.
The average temperature in-
creases one degree Fahrenheit in
the month of February.
In spite of this warming trend,
the lowest temperature on record
at Keflavik, one degree above,
was recorded in February 1969.
There is a slight increase in
precipitation, and increasing fog
causes a decline in good flying
conditions. Two storm tracks ao^^.

Keflavik feels their efffects for
