Naval Academy appointments available
Each year there are 85 special appointments to attend the Naval
Academy for regular Navy and Marine Corps•personnel. There are also
an additional 85 appointments available to reserve units of both
services. ----.-------------------
The requirements are high.
Naturally the applicant must be
of good moral character and be
recommended by his commanding of-
ficer. A GCT/ARI score of 120 or
better is needed along with a
high school diploma. Being a
United States citizen and never
have been married are other pre-
requisites. The age limit for
regular Navy applicants is 20
while the reservist may be up to
22 as of July 1 of the year of
entrance to the academy.
All regular applicants and
most reservists are sent to the
Naval Academy Preparatory School
before entering the academy. A
four year education follows, end-
ing with a bachelor of science
degree and a commission as an

Monday, March 15 — Hamburger
on bun, vegetable soup, juice,
fruit cocktail and fresh milk.
Tuesday, March 16 — Luncheon
meatloaf sand, with lettuce, to-
mato soup, juice, ice cream and
fresh milk.
Wednesday, March 17 — Goulash
beef, buttered noodles, juice,
bread & butter, chocolate pudding
and fresh milk.
Thursday, March 18 — Frank-
furter on bun, relish, bean soup,
popsicle, juice and fresh milk.
Friday, March 19 — Chicken
ala king, boiled rice, hot rolls
and butter, celery sticks, grape
juice, asst, cookies and fresh
milk.
The cheerleaders of the A. T.
Mahan High School will be taking
orders for short-sleeved sweat-
shirts on March 15 and 16 at the
main entrance of the high school
from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The sweat-
shirts, with the above symbol a-
cross the front, come in 12 dif-
ferent colors and four sizes (ag
M, L, and XL). Six weeks shoi^B
be allowed for delivery. Proce^H
from the sale will be used to pay
for the cheerleader uniforms.
