Bake shop makes 9500 loaves weekly for galley, home The Could you imagine eating break- fast without toast or drinking your morning coffee without pas- try? Without the Naval Station Bake Shop this would be the sit- uation. The bake shop runs 24-hours a day just to keep the normal sup- ply of bread and pastries avail- able to all persons on the NATO base. On a regular weekday the bake shop produces 1,700 loaves of bread and for the entire week they produce 9,500 loaves. Bread is supplied to the gal- ley, commissary, Navy Exchange, and the clubs by the bake shop. The bake shop also provides the galley and the O'Club with cakes and pastries. All official occasions such advancement ceremonies, retiri raents and reenlistments are pr< vided with cakes by the bake shop All official baking requests go through the food service office. Baking is also done for the wives club's parties and other similar functions at a minimal cost. The most expensive piece of equipment at the bake shop is the Amflow Model 300 or the "bread machine." This machine produces 450 pounds of roll dough per hour and has the processing equipment necessary to store, ferment and mix the ingredients. Seventeen people, headed by CS1 Ralph O.
