Seven awarded certificates, medals
at NSGA personnel inspection
Seven NSGA Navymen received commendations and good conduct awards
at personnel inspection March 12. The awards were presented by Lt.
Cdr. Kenneth B. Kampen, SecGru's commanding officer.
Receiving awards were:
• CTTCS RobertC. Bruce, fourth
Good Conduct award;
• CTR2 DouglasA. Peterson, the
Navy Unit Commendation for service
aboard the carrier Kitty Hawk in
* Southeast Asia;
• CTRC Eugene E. Townsend, the
fifth Navy Unit Commendation and
fourth Meritorious Unit Commen-
dation. The NUC was for service
aboard the carrier Kitty Hawk, and
MUC for service aboard the car-
rier Oriskany, both in Southeast
Asia;
• CTM2 Daryl E. Beeson, the
Meritorious Unit Commendation for
outstanding service at the San
• Diego Naval Communications Sta-
tion;
• PN1 Thomas C. Hornback,
4 fourth Good Conduct award;
• CTOC Charles A. Hankins, the
Navy Unit Commendation and Merit-
orious Unit Commendation. The
C was for service with the Clar-
et Bullseye Task Unit of the
val Security Group for the per-
iod 1958 to 1965, and MUC was for
service aboard the technical re-
search ship Oxford in Southeast
Asia; and
• CTM1 Carter P. Bard, first
Good Conduct award, and a letter
of commendation for a beneficial
suggestion.
Teen Club to re-open
The grand re-opening of the
Teen Club will be held tomorrow
from 8-10 with a live band. Free
refreshments will be served.
Special features of the eve-
ning are the guest appearance of
the USO show and the voting of a
new constitution.
Cost is $1.50 for members, $2
for nonmembers, and $2.50 for
couples. Dress is casual. All
enlisted guests must have a per-
mission slip from their date's
parents at the door.
U-of-M has
record roll
in Term IV
The University of Maryland at
Keflavik has begun its Term IV
with the largest enrollment in
its history. There are 157 stu-
dents enrolled in the seven cour-
ses offered this semester. The
courses which began on March 15
and 16 are eight weeks long.
PROBLEMS OF WORLD POLITICS
