NSGA takes four
e-season games
NSGA won four games, from a
field of 18 in the basketball
tournament over last weekend.
In the first game of the tour-
ney NSGA started the action Fri-
day night, by defeating ComFAlr-
Kef 35-26. Later on during the
tournament NSGA took Personnel
42-17. As the tournament went on
the SecGru team faced up to their
third opponent. The game ended
with NSGA on top once again, beat-
ing Supply 50—42.
In the final game, which was
one of the closest of the tourna-
ment, as the game went into over-
time, NSGA sunk one more basket
to win over 57th by a score of
54-52. Ray Wilkenson and Herbie
Hubert both scored 13 points to
be top scorers for NSGA. For 57th
Ron Handschort scored 14 to lead
his team.
In the regular seasonal play
e will be ten "A" and nine
teams. The season for the
men started Monday, while the wo-
men go into competition Tuesday,
June 1.

clinch first place
in couples’ bowling
Jay and Lou Butler, Bob and
Janet Kasper of the Rollin Pins
won 88 and a half and lost 31 and
a half games to win first place
in the Iceland Couples Bowling
League.
The Five-Ten's Ray and Jo Ann
Hickman, Bob and Judy Metzer won
73 and lost 47 to take second
place.
Bob and Thelma Burris, Bill
and Karen Blevin had 69 and a half
wins, with 50 and a half losses
for The Young Un's, who captured
third place.
In fourth place The Rosnopson,
Dick and Rosie Hagelund, Jim and
Dora Engstrom won 65 and a half,
lost 54 and a half games.
The Pin Tippers,Mike and Linda
Ferguson and Gary and Linda Affol-
ter, won 64 and lost 56 tocapture
th place. Last place goes to
Mama's and the Papa's, Dusty
Jo Durst, Willard and Barb
raham who won 40 and lost 80.

Softball tournaments open season;
AFI,Food Service outscore opponents
Pre season tournaments started off summer sports, as AFI swept the
slow pitch softball, while Food Service captured the fast pitch
division.
AFI captured five games to win the slow pitch softball tournament
last weekend. _________________________
Twenty five teams started in
the tournament as AFI slowly
started working their way up. In
the five games that AFI won they
beat Supply, by a score of 15-13.
Other games went, Medical 8 and
AFI 17, Admin 6 with AFI 7.
Getting close to the finals
Comptroller took VP-Narcs 5-3,
and ComFAirKef No. 1 slipped by
Air Ops 2-1.
In the two final contests,
both games were only a two run
difference. The scoring went AFI
15, and ComFAirKef No. 1 13.
In the final game of the pre-
season tournament, AFI took Comp-
troller by a score of 7-5. Les-
ter Hugh hit two for three and
cracked a triple for AFI, while
for Comptroller, Walt Kelegoski
also went two for three and hit
a homer with two men on the base,
as the game ended with AFI 7-5
over Supply.
Frank Gregori and Lee Kastlng
help Food Service win the fast
pitch softball tournament last
weekend.
Food Service captured three
games to come out on top in the
tourney. They took NSGA by a
score of 4-3. Then they shut-out
Public Works 12-0.
In the final game of the tourn-
ament Rockville was the subject
and due to Frank Gregori's bases
loaded homer, and Lee Kasting's
fine pitching they went down by a
score of 5-1. Action in the game
saw Frank as the leading hitter
by cracking a homer with three
men on base, and then later step-
ping up to the plate and hitting
a triple.
Trophies awarded to
Powder Puff leaguers
Jo Ann Hickman claimed two
outstanding awards for the Womens
Powder Puff League at their an-
nual banquet, held at the 56 Club
May 18.
Trophies were awarded to all
outstanding bowlers of the league.
The banquet announced team no.
.•♦even to end up in first place.
Members of the team were Thelma
Burris, Beverly Milles, Shirley
Peabody, and Betty Richards.
