 Service Information School for Navy wives Vice Adm. R. L. Townsend, in a recent visit with AirLant units, has singled out one area of grow- ing concern centered around the lack of information about the Navy way of life exhibited by the first-term Navy wife. A Navy Wives Service Informa- tion School was set up to develop a curriculum designed to provide useful, everyday Information for young Navy wives to make them more aware of their roles,responsibil- ities and benefits in the Navy. The naval station has set up a similar course which provides for nine hours of classroom time to cover required materials. Classes will continue for three ays, Monday, Tuesday and Wednes- y from 1 to 4, with the first ass beginning June 7. Wives have only Monday to ap- ply for this class between 8s30 and 9:30 a.m. by phoning Ext. 6289. A maximum number of wives will be 25. The minimum number has been set at 15. Tentative future dates are July 6-8, August 2-4 and September 7-9. For further information con- tact the career counselor. Saeger, Jr. The ceremony was held Sunday, May 30 at 9:15 a.m. in the station chapel. Mod Minstrels to appear Nine pretty coeds and five young men make up the Mod Minstrels, who will perform here from June 9 through 13. The Mod Minstrels are a group of students and members of the Mad- rigal Singers of the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minn. They are on a 33-day tour, which started May 12 and are sponsored by the USO, National Music Council and the Department of Defense. Members of the cast from Min- nesota are: Sandy Evenson, Jo Ellen Goerz,Mary Pat Dawson, John Olund, Jon Wild, Dennis Working, and Dave Anderson, all of Duluth; Profile Mrs. Ann Ray bowled games of 204, 216, and 234 to set a womens bowling series record of a 654 Thursday evening, May 27 at the Arctic Bowl Lanes. Left-handed Ann Ray has bowled on lanes three and four frequent- ly for the past year and a half that she has been here. This is the first time she has exceeded the 600 mark. Her pre- vious high, a 591, was easily overshadowed with her new 654 scratch series and a 717 handicap. According to the bowling alley this was the highest score for a woman since 1964, which is as far back as lane records go. Mrs. Ray bowls with the Kefla- vik Hopefuls' first place team Kef. 5. Mary Jean Ellis of Chatfield; Jayne Nelson from Nashwauk; Jane Nelson from Fairmont; Mark Maton- ich of Hibbing; Jan Turenne of International Falls; and Kathy Braun of Regal. Libby Falls is the only member of the group who hails from another state, she is from Freehold, N. J. They will perform Wednesday, June 9 at 8 p.m. at Andrews Theater. Thursday morning they are scheduled to leave for H-3 and return that evening for a 7:30 performance at the O' Club. Friday's only performance will be at Rockville at 7 p.m. Saturday they will perform at 2 p.m. at the Polar Club, and 8 p.m. at Grindavik. Their last perfor- mances here will be at the CPO Club at 2 p.m. and at the NCO Club at 9 p.m. Sorry, wrong time In our last issue concerning Z-grams. We erred in printing information on Z-gram 39.
