"Welcome Aboard, Cap'n.", says Odr. Robert L. Sewell (r) tc Cdr. Fugene A. Tansey, Cl VF-49, Tuesday night. 71-49 arrived this week to take over ASW' duties from VI -24, commanded by Cdr. Sewell. ADJ2 Jerry L. Wiley reenlisted for four more years in the Navy, as his plane flew over the south- ern tip of Greenland on its way to Keflavik from Patuxent River, Kd. Lt. Cdr. Bob Johnson admini- stered the oath. Both men are part, of crew six of VP-49. Crew six was the advance crew that ar- rived Sunday night to start the change-over of patrol squadrons at the naval station. VF-49 will be part of the Iceland ASW Grou; for the next five months. They come back for another tour » Patrol Squadron 49 has return- ed to Iceland this week tc take over ASW duties from VP-24, end- ing the "Batmen's" four-month de- ployment to Keflavik. Commanded by Cdr. Fugene Tan- sey, VP-49, the "Woodpecker" squadron, began arriving last Sun- day night when crew six landed and reported that one of their men "thoughtso much of the morale of the squadron," he reenlisted.
