FASTPITCH
The Fastpitch league was idle this week as players in the league
were participating in the First Naval District softball tournament.
In District play, Keflavik was defeated by Portsmouth 7-3, which was
the only game played the first day. All other games were rained out.
GOLF
SS took AFI behindthe four-un-
der-par performances of Tim Best-
enheider and Dick Plante, smooth-
ering 57th out of the race for
first place in the league,
CFK trounced NCS as Chris
Crouch slammed excellent fairway
shots, and putted for six birdies,
"A" LEAGUE BASKETBALL
NSCA, KR, and NCS each broke
out in front with 2-0 records as
57th won two 2-point decisions
over second division foes. KR
seems too powerful for the other
teams as they have the best re-
bounding and fast break. Supply
has the long-range shooting, but
no inside fire-power.
"B" LEAGUE BASKETBALL
A four-way tie has developed
at the top as CFK, PW, Personnel,
and VP-01 all have lost only one
game, while Air Ops is only two
games down. As predicted the VP-
EM and FW franchises benefited
after dropping from the class "A"
league to the class "B" league.
All have strengthened which will
make a tight second half. Sev-
eral players were optioned to
the *B* league which had suf-
fered from rotation losses.
SLOWPXTCH AMERICAN LEAGUE
Third place IDF’s move into a
tie for second by defeating HAA
allowed CFK No. 2 to ease into
first, one game ahead. CFK's only
defeat is at the hands of the SS
Mafia, as IDF has pulled some key
defensive shifts to highlight its
second-half advance.
SLOWPITCH NATIONAL LEAGUE
VP-EM upset the VP-Officers to
vault AirOps into first place.
NSGA blanked NCS to remain in a
tie with Comptroller who blasted
the High School. AirOps has the
edge in this four-way race as the
season is drawing to a close.
