The Board of Directors for the Keflavik Teen Club needs a cou-
ple to replace Capt. and Mrs. Frank Shaw as Teen Club Advisors.
Married couples who are Interested In this position, can call
Capt. Shaw at Ext. 8224, or Lt. Cdr. Larry King at Ext. 2260 for
further information. The Teen Club offers both social activities
and cultural advancements for Keflavik*s teens.
For our newer residents who are anxiously reviewing the Family
Housing Waiting List each month, this list is distributed to each
organization on the station when lt is published, in addition to
the list that is posted in the Housing Office. Those who need
information regarding their standing on the list should check
their organization copy, or make a personal visit to the Housing
Office.
The Midnight Sun-downers Square Dance Club is soliciting ad-
vance interest in its upcoming classes. Tentatively, the class
is set to start September 11. Anyone interested in learning to
square dance is asked to call one of the following club officers:
Ron Markus, president (8252);Lee Kasting, first v.p. (8566); Boyd
Swartz, second v.p» (8106); Larry Pearson,, third v.p. (8650);
Gena Shibley, secretary-treasurer (8565); and Sandy Gray, histor-

Air Force people this week are having to get Navy haircuts.
The reason — the Air Force barber had to go on emergency leave
and the shop will be closed until his return.
The Youth Center is looking for a qualified dance instructor
to teach ballet, tap dance, jazz ballet or Hawaiian dances- If
you can teach these dances, contact Mary Pearce, Youth Center
Director, at Ext. 4149/8822.
Later this month, residents in family housing units will be
visited by fire department representatives to conduct an informal
fire hazard inspection in the homes. In addition, the firemen
will show occupants the best exit possibilities in case a fire
should break out. Even though Fire Prevention Week is still two
months away, all defense force members are reminded that preven-
tion is a year-round practice.
John Mason, past president of the Fleet Reserve Association FRA,
presents a plaque to shipmate David Rose for his meritorious ser-
vice in self-help projects and dedication to the FRA. Rose is
leaving here next week after two years with CoramSta. The guest
speaker at the meeting was Lt. Richard P. Dobkowitz, Commissary OIC.

plans Glascow
Labor Day trip
The Recreation Department has
announced plans for a Labor Day
four-day trip to Glasgow, Scot-
land.
Plans are for the tour to de-
part Keflavik Friday September 3,
and return Monday September 6.
The cost per person for the
round-trip charter flight is $55.
Hotel accommodations in Glas-
gow can be arranged at an addi-
tional cost forthis holiday shop-
ping trip.

Parents to meet
new H. S. principal
at Monday forum
There will be an open forum
meeting with Dr. John B. Hewitt,
the new high school principal for
all parents of children in grades
7 through 12.
The meeting will take place
Monday evening at 7 in the new
high school auditorium.
Dr. Hewitt will present the
master class schedule for the up-
coming academic year, and an ex-
planation of the revised curricu-
lum and new course offerings.
He will also field questions
concerning school for the coming <
year.
He hopes that all parents will
take this opportunity to learn
more about Mahan High School and
its educational goals.
One further note. Students in
grades 7 through 12 who missed
registration this week for the
coming school year, may register
on Friday, August 20, at the new
school from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
