First and second place teams that ended in a
three-way tie for the top spot at season's end,
are the Alley-Cats (left) and Fantastic Four. Al-
ley-Cats are: Beth Gallegos, Sandy Pearce, Leigh
Anne Freshcom and Jim McLaurin. The runner-up
Fantastic Four-some is: Bill Bruus, George Kast-
ing, Elaine Campo and Shirley Weed. The third-
place team was Sally's Super Strikers.
Junior bowlers end season with roll-off
A roll-off finally depided the
top three positions in the stand-
ings of the Junior Bowling League
as its season ended.
Three teams, Alley-Cats, Fan-
tastic Four and Sally's Super
Strikers, broke their season-end
first place tie, with the Alley-
Cats taking first.
Trophies for the top three
teams and many individuals were
presented at last week's Youth
Center awards ceremony.
Members of the first-place Al-
ley-Cats were: Beth Gallegos,
Sandy Pearce, Leigh Anne Fresh-
com and Jim Mclaurin. Second-
place Fantastic Four were: Elaine
Campo, Shirley Weed, George East-
ing and Bill Bruus. Sally's Su-
per Strikers, finishing third,
were: Sally Goetz, Curtis For-
tenberry, Jerry Ethridge and Bud-
dy Hickman.
Sandy Pearce and Bryan Fresh-
com ended up with the high aver-
ages. High series went to Sally
Goetz and Wayne McDonald. High
games were rolled by Gene Bro
and Beth Gallegos. Handicap se
ies went to Beth Rech and Matt
Harder, handicap games to Elaine
Campo and Curtis Fortenberry. The
most improved awards went to
Elaine Campo and Scott Daves.
The winter league will start
in mid-September. All bowlers
between the ages of 13 and 22 who
are interested in bowling in this
league can sign up by calling
Dave Haviland at 7167 or Beth
Rech at 8459.
In the individual awards category, plaudits and
trophies were given to: Scott Daves, most im-
proved bowler; Sandy Pearce, high average; Sally
Goetz, high series; Elaine Campo, most improved;
