added super-grade stars. They are ACCS Charles E.
tes and NavSta's ETCS James E. Comstock and AMCS
ward L. Pasek.
MSgt. Lewis E. Abrams has been presented the
First Oak Leaf Cluster in lieu of the second award
of the Air Force Commendation Medal. The award
period was from March 1967 to December 1970 when
he served with the 552nd Wing Standardization E-
valuation Division of the 552nd AEW&C Wing, Mc-
Clellan AFB, California.
• MSgt. Wayne N. Cooksey has also been awarded
the First Oak Leaf Cluster in lieu of a second Air
Force Commendation Medal. He served as NCOIC of
tactical radio maintenance, 47th Communications
Group, Ent AFB, Colorado from February 1970 to
May 1971.
• TSgt. Jose L. Villegas has been awarded his
second Air Force Commendation Medal (first Oak
Leaf Cluster) for distinguishing himself as NCOIC
of the service club at Dyess AFB, Texas. The award
period was from August 1968 to January 1971.
• A second Air Force Commendation Medal (first
Oak Leaf Cluster) also was awarded to MSgt. Walter
H. Watson for distinguished service as NCOIC of
the training records section .of the 20th Air Div-
ision, Ft. Lee AFS, Virginia, from July 1970 to
bly 1971.
SSgt. Virgil E. Lawrence has been awarded the
r Force Commendation Medal for the period Janu-
ary 1969 to December 1970, when he served with the
standardization branch, Standardization/Evaluation
Division, 73rd Aerospace Surveillance Wing, ADC,
Tyndall AFB, Florida.
• TSgt. Melvin E. James has been presented the
second Oak Leaf Cluster in lieu of the third Air
Force Commendation Medal for service as the NCOIC
of the structural section, 363rd Civil Engineering
Sq., Shaw AFB, South Carolina, from September 1967
to March 1971. He was promoted to his present
rank on Sept. 1.
• TSgt. Winfred L. Faulkner was awarded the Air
Force Commendation Medal for the period January
1970 to April 1971 when he was assigned as NCOIC
of the meteorological maintenance section, 678th
Air Defense Group, Tyndall AFB, Florida.
• First Lt. Ronald L. Pasley has been awarded
the Air Force Commendation Medal for the period
December 1969 through February 1971 when he was
the OIC, material control branch, Directorate of
Ground Communications Electronics Meteorological
Maintenance, and as Directorate of Supply and
Services, 25th Air Division at McChord AFB, Wash-
ington.

Stewards here at the naval
station are asked to take part in
a Navy-wide conversion program.
In the apprentice-level, the
over population of SDs has been
reduced, howeverthe Navy is still
ooking for conversions in the
, E-5 and E-6 levels, to al-
viate pay grade imbalances.

igibility requirements for Class
"A" school training.
Waiver of test score require-
ments will be considered on an
individual case basis not to ex-
ceed 20 points of the combined
scores (except for HM and DT
schools).
Those not selected for school
will be authorized to participate
in a Navy-wide examination for a
lateral change of rate. Stewards
requesting a change of rating may
also take the SD test in addition
tothe test forthe lateral switch.
