The Navy Enlisted Scient
Education Program (NESEP)
vides an opportunity to obtain
college degree and, at the same
time, earn a commission as an of-
ficer in the Naval service. You
receive up to four years of edu-
cation in the fields of engineer-
ing, science and mathematics at
21 leading universities through-
out the United States.
While in college, you receive
full active duty benefits of your
pay grade and have the opportunity
to advance in rate. One ten-week
summer training period at the
Newport, R.I., prepares you pro-
fessionally for appointment to
commissioned grade.

NESEP is open to enlisted mem-
bers of the Navy or Naval Reserve
who are on active duty. Appli-
cants must be citizens of the U.S.
by birth or by naturalization;
have completed at least one year
of active duty by Dec. 31, 1971,
preferably in other than a ser-
vice school environment; be ser-
ving in pay grade E-4 or above,
or anticipate being selected for
advancement to E-4 as a result of
the August 1971 rating exam or
completion of a service school;
have a high school diploma or
certificate of equivalency based
on GED performance; have a com-
bined GCT or ARI battery test
score of at least 115; not have
reached their 25th birthday on
July 1, 1972; meet the physical
standards for officer candidates;
and be recommended for the pro-
gram by their commanding officers.

for the 1972 enrollment must
reach the Bureau of Naval Person-
nel no later than Oct. 1, 1971.
Episcopal prayer
services slated
An Episcopal Morning Prayer
service will be conducted in the
Blessed Sacrament Chapel each
Sunday morning.
The services began last Sunday
and are at 9.

The Arctic Bowl on the NATO base was no place for someone with a
heart condition Sundayas the four intramural league bowling champions
staged a roll off to determine the Summer League Base Championship.
Three Air Force units, 57th FIS,

grueling nine-game, all-day af-
fair which for awhile looked like
it could end up all even.
After seven games, less than
100 pins separated the four teams,
but the long day and pressure

Recreation plans
Amsterdam trip
The recreation department is
sponsoring a four-day tour to Am-
sterdam next month, providing
enough people want to go.
Plans are for the charter
flight to leave Keflavik on Oct.
22, and return Oct. 25.
The cost for the trip is $80
each for round-trip transporta-
tion. Hotel accommodations can
be arranged for an additional
cost.
