You can still
cgister for
art classes
»
"If you feel that your spare
time is being wasted and are in-
terested in learning a hobby that
can be an enjoyable passtime as
well as a rewarding field, the
art classes at the Youth Center
may be what you're looking for,"
says instructor Terry Carroll.
The Commercial Art & Creative
Illustration Course for adults
and Drawing Class for children
have begun, but you can still re-
gister. The classes are not on
8-week courses so you start class
as soon as you sign up.
Many people may have misunder-
stood previous announcements, so
here is more specific informa-
tion.
The art courses- are divided
^nto two divisions:
The Children's Drawing Class,
■ which children from nine to 13
years of age are eligible. Says
the instructor, "I believe this
is the age range in which children
start getting more serious about
their artistic talents." These
classes are held every Thursday
evening at 6:30 until 8 p.m. The
registration fee for this course
has been set at $3 and $1 per
lesson. The present enrollment
is about 17 students.
The Adult Creative Illustra-
tion Course is offered to anyone
over 13 years of age, dependents
and serviceman. Classes are held
on Tuesdays, from 7:30 p.m. until
9 p.m. The registration fee for
this course has been set at $10
and $1 per lesson. The present
enrollment is about 13 students.
The instructor wishes to ex-
plain his course of instruction
as such, "No experience is neces-
sary for the student. I want to
find each student's weakest point,
whether it be perspective, shad-
ing or simply drawing, and help
him with it, and then go from
there to basic constructive draw-
ing."
If you are interested in tak-
ing either of these courses or
have any questions, contact Terry
at Ext. 4156, and after 5 p.m.,
at Ext. 8619.
