Under the G-I Bill, vets can also draw allowances for vocational or technical schooling; flight training; farm cooperative train- ing; high school and apprentice- ship or on-the-job training in skills like police work, build- ing, electronics and auto mechan- ics . High unemployment is one of the three factors that the Administration cites for in- creased G-I Bill enrollment. The other two are: The higher allow- ances voted by Congress in 1970; and a publicity campaign to in- form veterans of all the benefits available to them.
