White Falcon
March 12, 1976
Volleyball standings
The first week of play finds Supply,
AIMD, Det 14 and HSA undefeated. The
eventual champions will probably come
from this group with AIMD and HSA favor-
ed.
In mixed doubles, the race is wide
open with the Fantastics and the Ham-
burgers favored.
In ladies' play, it looks like HSA
all the way. However, there is "many a
slip 'twixt the cup and the lip," to
quote an old golf cliche.
In recreation ball, AIMD looks like
the class of the league.
Racquetball
In "A" league play, IDF and the Sand-
crabs are in the lead with VP-5 close
behind. In "B" league competition, AFI
is in the lead with AIMD-1 a half game
behind. Recreation will be tied with
AFI if they beat NavComSta, setting the
stage for their final match meeting.
Marines avenge their Wrestling loss
The Marines avenged their 1975 loss
to Det 14 by winning 69-64 over their
old foes. They trailed through most of
the match but scored 19 points in light-
heavy competition and 22 points in un-
limited. Public Works had only three
entries and finished third with 36
oints on three wins.
Softball begins soon
Slowpitch, intermediate and fastpitch
softball will be played this year. The
leagues (including a ladies' league)
will begin around May 1. Organizations
are asked to support a ladies' team from
WAFS, WAVES and dependents. Names of
team captains or coaches should be call-
ed in to Mr. Dick Plante at 7298 prior
to April 25. A memo may also serve the
purpose.
Individual winners were:
123 Ken Reif Public Works
130 Mike Sandler Det 14
137 George Tota Det 14
147 Rick Saul Public Works
157 Tom Hall Public Works
167 Mike Perry NavComSta
177 Andy Moser Det 14
187 Stan Zitzow Det 14
197 Scott Borderud Marine Barracks
Uni. Tony Savone Marine Barracks
The next wrestling event is scheduled
for November 1976.
