Page 4 White Falcon April 23, 1976 H.S. wins volleyball playoffs League standings j by Bob Simister High School "A," which played second I fiddle to AIMD all year, came through Monday to capture first place in the station Intermural Volleyball Playoffs. High School beat AIMD in the first set, two games to one. The 57th FIS breezed-by VP-5 two to nothing and then took on AIMD to determine who would have another shot at High School "A." In their three-game match, 57th FIS came away victorious, two games to one. AIMD thus ended their undefeated season on a sour note by coming in third in the playoff competition. High School and 57th squared-off for the championship with the match going the full three games before High School emerged on top. Congratulations to High School "A" for their fine play all season, to Nick Zingaro who grew his hair extra long be- fore the season, (he figured he would lose a lot, I guess) and to the rather vocal fans who supported their teams. Selected as the most valuable player for the season, and a member of the "All Star Team," is John Heinrich of High School "A." Joining Heinrich on the All Star Team is team mate Cary Ansell, Bruce Kennedy of 57th FIS, Chris Paulino of AFI, Don O'Connor of the Marine Barracks, Bernie Cruz of Supply, Mitch Passino and Jim Bartley of AIMD.
