Player of the Week
White Falcon
Softball standings
Kutzera chosen
Lou Kutzera of NSGA was chosen Player
of the Week for his outstanding perform-
ance over the past few days.
Lou plays an excellent shortstop for
NSGA and is leading the hitting and home
run parade in the National League. He
has the astronomical batting average of
843, having 12 hits in his first 14
times at bat. He is also his league’s
leading home runner with three runs in
his hat.
Lou is a lefty batter who hits to all
fields with power. It’s . rumored that
his only weakness is low and behind
while one pitcher asked if he could
raise the plate and pitch under it when
Lou comes to bat.
Good luck in the long season, Lou!
Game of the week
The game in which Rockville beat 57th
6-5 was chosen Game of the Week over
many other close games.
The Rockets took a 1-0 lead in the
first and Ken Morris’ home run increased
it to 2-0 in the third. The Black
Knights took a 3-2 lead in the fourth on
a two-run homer by Cecil McCommond and a
double by "Fireball" Fiorini.
In the bottom of the fifth, the Rock-
ets scored three on hits by Moore, Fuzz-
nacht and "Elder Berry."
The Knights answered with one in the
sixth and another in the seventh on a
homer by Fiorini. This set the stage
for the Rockets to win on an error and
Homer Pataky’s single in the last of the
seventh.
Racquetball
A singles' tourney will be held in
racquetball by "A" and "B" classes.
Register by Wednesday with Dick Plante
for entry, giving phone and name. Play
will begin about June 1, 1976.
The leagues shape up as having the
best balance in many years, so it looks
like whoever turns the wheels the most
efficiently and smartest will emerge as
the champion.
In Fastpitch the Independents look
like the cream of the crop until Bob
McDermott leaves. NSGA and AFI will be
factors as soon as their pitchers get
the kinks out while PW is the unknown
quantity.
In Intermediate Rockville seems to
have the most power, however, this lea-
gue looks to have good balance. Field-
ing will be the secret, so it is a lit-
tle early to pick a favorite.
In women's ball one franchise is
having trouble, having switched owners
and managers by the second game. The

other teams seem securely financed and
the probable favorites are the Waves
with the Independents close behind.
Stats are not available yet due to the
insecurity of the CFK—Bennett's
Bombers' franchise. Sharon Bennett has
assumed the reins for CFK. She is now
on a recruiting tour of the base and
her comment to the press was "I'll do
everything possible to get a pennet con-
tender even if I have to pitch and catch
at the same time." Good luck, Sharon.
Golf
A blitz is scheduled for 1 p.m. Sun**

will be formed by tournament chairman.
