New AF eval.
system reviewed
Major command and equivalent person-
nel managers met last week at the Air
Force Military Personnel Center. The
center, located at Randolph AFB, Tex.,
hosted a workshop on a new evaluation
system being developed for the top three
enlisted grades.
One possible system was field-tested
during February and March. It included
revised Airmen Performance Report pro-
cedures for E-7, 8's and 9's with rating
controls designed to curb APR inflation.
The test system limited ratings to 25
per cent in the top block and 75 per
cent cumulative in the top two blocks.
Test results from 17 installations
representing eight different participat-
ing commands are still being analyzed.
Significant results were discussed by
conferees during the course of the work-
shop. The workshop's task was to de-
velop a consolidated position on the new
APR form, and evaluate the feasibility
of a controlled rating distribution sys-
tem for senior NCO's.
