Page 4 White Falcon November 19, 1976 Supply trounces NCS, 53-46 Supply edged the NCS Sparks, 53-46, in an overtime win to take the top cage spot for the game of the week. The Sparks held a 20-19 half-time lead. Supply tied the score at 41, and, with Vanatti's accurate shooting attack, Supply went on to win the game. Vanatti was high scorer for the Pyg- mies with 16, followed by Billy Groom with 15 and Will Foresnank 11. High game scorer was "Big Ed" Pensel with 23 and Clyde Russler, following with 13. NSGA,43-AFI, 40 NSGA eked out a close game with AFI, 43-40. The Guardians edged the Commodores with an expert command of liners, dunk- ers, hookers and boomers. At half-time, the score was tied at 17; Gil Hernandez then led in the second half with 12 of his 17 game-high points. Powell Crosley was high-point scorer with 10 for the Commodores. Hosp, 54-VP-49, 48 Hospital downed VP-49, 54-48, in "A" division basketball league battle for the top cage spot Tuesday. At half-time, Hosp held a slight edge over VP-49 with the score 23-18. Hosp maintained a one-point lead throughout the second half, and then gained a six-point lead at the end. Mahan High School dumped the Lakers, 16 to 11 Monday night to take over sole possess- ion of first place in women's basketball league. The Vikingnettes fell behind early in the game from the long, accurate shoot- ing of Janet Moore, She scored two three pointers to lead the Lakers to an 8-6 first-half advantage. The high schoolers fought back with the shooting of Hafais Austin and Wanda Felton to give the Vikingsnettes a 10- 9 lead shortly after intermission. The tight zone defense of the Lakers gave the winners trouble in scoring. Unable to break the zone, Hallier found the range from the outside to help put the game away. This factor, along with the hustle of Cherye Martin who stole several balls away from the Lakers in the last quarter of play, proved to be the needed, little extra for the vic- tory. With the victory, the Vikingnettes remained undefeated with a 4-0 record.
