NSGA sacks AH, 29-11
The NSGA Guardians defeated AFI in the
"Bag Boy" festival, 29-11, on 33 hits and
six homers as Kevin Gallagher, the AFI
Dragons’ ace pitcher, was shellshocked
from the beating.
The Dragons led 7-6 in the fifth when
the bombardment started.
Homers by Jack Scalise, Bart Keyes,
Paul Barber and Bob Johnson scored 11
runs, however, more was to come in the
seventh as the Guardians scored 12 runs
on 11 hits with John Pozniak and Willie
Wilson homering.
Bill Dale had 4/5 for the Dragons.
AFI has been undefeated until
Gallagher stirred up the Guardians .
Rivalry such as this brings out the
best in some cases as Kevin lived to rue
the day when he made his biggest play.
The win tied NSGA with the Rockville
Rockets for the league lead.
Rockets, NEX win ladies* slowpitch
The Ladies' 1977 slowpitch softball
season got underway recently with the
Rockets and Navy Exchange, picking up
victories to remain the only undefeated
teams at the end of the first week.
The Rockets’ strong offensive attack
was led by Peg Siegy who collected two
homeruns, while Kidwell, Flinn and
Austin each chipped in homers.
Navy Exchange defeated hospital, 15-
4, and held off the Coolcats for a 14-10
victory. Jones and Jollier both scored
homeruns to aid in Navy Exchanges
victory.
Any ladies interested in playing
softball this season should contact
Teresa Ludt at 7551.
Felons stomp Guardians twice in volleyball
The High School Felons defeated the
NSGA Guardians 15-7 and 15-7 in base
championships finals after the Guardi-
ans beat them to create an "if neces-
sary" game.
Tony Felton and Hafdis Austin led
the Felons while Diane and Paul Everitt
and Eric Vananze ably assisted.
This closes volleyball for the year.
The NWSED Meteors finished third in
the tourney.

Eastman scores golf low
Paul Eastman shot a 73 in a losing
cause as Bob Lake with a 20 handicap ate
him up with a 79 for IDF’S first win.
The 73 by Paul was the lowest score
recorded by any, NATO golfer since play-
ing at Keflavik. For Bob, it was the
first time he had broken 80.
Hershfield tops Shortly in triple
Pete Hershfield defeated Jim Shortly
21-17, 8-21, 21-13 in the finals of the
winner’s bracket of the handicap ra.c-
quetball champiopship•
Hershfield made his experience pay
off as the sly fox eased up in the
second game and then poured on the coal
in the third.
Carl Shepard, Woody Stephens, Jim
Hauge, Doc Clegg and Shortly are un-
defeated.
