Page 2 White Falcon Consumer bulletin exchange new<f by Nadia Slusar Ice Cream Shoppe opens Yes, it's open, and doing quite a business with new ice cream. Would you believe more than 1,000 scoops of ice cream have been dis- pensed in the last two weeks? The shop has a variety of flavors, and tries to make changes each week. Because of limited space, only eight flavors are offered at one time. The exchange hopes it will have something which will tickle your taste buds. And, for a different treat, why not try a double dip cone, with two different flavors? How’s this sound—one scoop of pistachio and one scoop of pecan? Mouth watering, huh? Stop in soon at the Viking and give the ice cream a try—you’ll come back for more. Let PtRT do the work Planning a party, having a birthday or anniversary party or just a plain old friendly get together? Why not let NEX take care of the worry and the bother of preparing the food. Past Pert Platter experts are awaiting your call. NEX has four platters, each designed to feed a different number of party goers, and, this price is right—less than $2 per person. It’s a great way to have a party; no muss or fuss. When the party is over, you just dispose of the dishes (no worry about who's going to return the catering equipment). Just call 5273 if you want to or- der or just get some more information on the platters. Beverage Store specials Spring fever has hit. NEX is looking forward, with great hopes, to a warm and sunny summer—a time for relaxing and enjoying a good cold drink. NEX want to help you do the same. NEX has also decided to reduce the number of items carried. So, for your enjoyment NEX has drastically reduced a number of be- verage products at the Beverage Store. Why not stop in and take advantage of these reduced items. The sale will only last as long as the product does, so hurry, the money you save will be your own. 'Give dad his day Don’t forget about father and his special day. Once a year let him know that he is a special person in your life and you really do appreci- ate^him and his efforts in caring for you. He is a unique person and a worthwhile individual with lots of responsibilities. Make his day mem- orable with a card and gift from the Navy Exchange. It’s a good feeling to be remembered and appreciated. Give dad his day. NEO bids farewell It’s time to end my tour as ex- change officer and introduce my re- lief, Lt. Robert A. Brown. I remember when I came to Keflavik, I saw a need for better communication with patrons, and, as a result, this weekly column was initiated to keep you better informed. Keflavik has offered unique chal- lenges to me and has given me valuable business experience for any future civilian career I may choose. I wish to thank you for your sug- gestions and comments during my tour. I know they have been extremely help- ful. Patrons have a great deal to look forward to in the future. With a strong management team at the exchange, a new facility will soon become a reality. With excel- lent support, the exchange will become significantly better in the coming year. Thank you again for a rewarding and challenging experience that I’m sure will be beneficial to me in the future.—Lt. J. R.
