Bowling Alley progress
NATO Base keglers will soon be able
to sharpen their skills in the newly-
remodeled bowling lanes, according to
reports from the Naval Station Recrea-
tion Department.
The Bowling Alley was originally
scheduled to reopen on June 15 but, be-
cause of the current ban on overtime
involving the Icelandic contract employ-
ees, progress is about 15-20 days be-
hind.
The station bowling alley was closed
March 28 so that six new lanes could be
added and the other lanes could be re-
furbished. The photographs on pages
one and three depict the work progress
for the estimated one and one-half mil-
lion dollar project.
Recreation is predicting they will
have grand opening on July 4. However
an exact date will not be determined
until June 20. The results of this
meeting will be announced over the
radio and will be reported in the June
24 edition of the "White Falcon".
