Hafnarfjordur win* Admiral’s Cup
The Admiral's Cup Golf tourney was
held Sunday at Graveholt Golf Course
under very poor weather condition with
four teams participating.
Hafnarfjordur's Golf Club turned out
to be the team that brought sunshine to
their club, by turning out a winning
score of 470. Each member had an average
of 78.3 per man.
Each club had eight golfers eligible
with the best six scores counting on the

With a sign reading "Go Allstars,
ground the Rockets" wasn't enough to
stop the undefeated Rockets jolting pun-
ishment to the All Stars by a 9-1 victory
in Sunday's action on the diamond of
Allan Shepherd's Field.
The All Stars, composed from the other
four ladies teams couldn't match their
talents with the Rockets. Their only
score came in the third inning with one
out and third baseman Sebastian slammed
a base hit up the middle. First base-
team's championship for Iceland.
Finishing second was Graveholt's team
with the Keflavik team holding down the
third place spot.
The Naval Station ac,ted as a gracious
host by finishing last in the contending
teams. "We gained some friends and
learned a little, but as the Dodgers'
fans used to say 'wait until next year'
team captain Mark Joerks said after
shooting a cool 97.

field to score Sebastian. The Rockets
tightened up their defense and retired
the next two batters.
The Rockets committed only two defen-
sive errors while scoring nine runs on
12 singles. Sue Huff, Most Valuable
Player, came up with some fine defensive
plays at first by scoring two of the
nine runs with three singles and dou-
ble.
Zoomies blast Navy 12-2
With two hits and three walks in five
times up at bat Tom Ross along with the
rest of the Air Force Zoomies blasted
Navy 12-2 Sunday at Allan Shepherd Field.
The Zoomies opened with two runs in
the first inning and another two in the
second, followed by a single run in the
third making the score 5-0 after three
innings of play.
With two outs in the fifth, Jack
Decker for the Navy doubled and brought
two runs home after two errors had
placed two batters on base.
The Air Force came back in the sixth
and seventh with five and two runs re-
spectively putting the game in doubt
for Navy. The score stood 12-2 with Air
Force receiving 12 walks and seven hits
from two Navy pitchers and Dick Plante
giving up only two hits for Air Force.

Little League breaks lor scout jamboree
All but two Minor League teams have
finished the first half of the Little
League season. Tuesday night was the
final night of the first half. Each
Little League team had one more game
this week that will take them into the
second half before another one-week
break.
There will be no Little League games
next week because of a break to allow
the Boy Scouts the opportunity to attend
a camporee in Iceland.

The Ladies Sottball league will
select players for the All Star team
that will travel to the Philadelphia
Naval Support Activity to participate in
the 4th Naval District Softball Tourna-
ment.
The players will depart Keflavik air-
