Bowling - American
past time
Bowling has been growing rapidly as
one of America's favorite indoor sports,
particularly during the winter months.
It offers exercise and competition but
the largest advantage is meeting other
people and cultivating new friendships.
The Keflavik Women's Bowling Associ-
ation (KWBA) announces that the winter
bowling season will soon start, and, as
in past seasons, sponsored league bowl-
ing will be offered on three days during
the week—one morning and two afternoon
leagues.
Some familiar faces will be return-
ing, and the KWBA extends a welcome to
new league members.
New members will find league bowling
a lot of fun, and to all newcomers to
Iceland, league bowling is one of the
best ways to meet other people, the KWBA
states.
You can be sure that during the long
winter months ahead, getting together
with women in league bowling will be a
bright spot on your calendar, KWBA mem-
bers continue.
All three leagues are scheduled to
start in September, and interested wo-
men should contact one of the following
for further information:
Monday Jan Spieh at 7757, Tuesday Lisa
Taylor at 7555 and on Thursday Peg
Widenor at 7542.
Children between six months and 10
years are not permitted in the bowling
alley during league play unless accom-
panied by an adult who is not bowling.
Officer's Mixed Double Bowling League
The Officer's Mixed Double Bowling
League will be meeting Wednesday at
6 p.m. at the Officer's Club to elect
a team captain and league officers.
Every couple desiring to bowl in the
winter league should sign up at the
meeting.
For more information, contact Major
Hadden at 7601 or ^666.
