Join USO for the Midnight Sundowners’ square
dancing demonstration tonight at 7:30. Get an
eyeful of gala old-fashioned costumes; live
callers will be present. Come to the USO for the
festive occasion.
There is still time to sign up for the Stong-
Burfell tour, scheduled for Sunday. This will
be primarily a sightseeing, picture-taking trip
which will pass through the Thjorsardalur Valley
and feature breathtaking views of Mt. Hekla.
USO will sponsor another Reykjavik shopping
tour, leaving at 1 p.m. Thursday. Sign up now
for a shopping spree in Iceland's capital.
Sept. 9 USO will show a film about the vol-
canic eruption on the Westmann Islands in 1973.

tive movie of a natural disaster and how Ice-
landers prevented a major catastrophe.

Plan now to take the F-4 "Phantom" jet
orientation tour. If you always wanted to
learn about those wild-looking birds which
frequently fly over the Keflavik area, join USO
for a special speech by an instructor and an
excursion through an F-4. The tour will leave

SATURDAY: MATCHLESS—An American news-
paperman possesses a magic ring given
him by an old sneaky person, which per-
mits him to remain invisible for short
periods of time. He is pursued by both
the Chinese and Americans who want to
learn the secret. Note: some scenes
may be offensive to a segment of the
viewing audience. Stars Patrick
O'Neal and Donald Pleasence.
SATURDAY: HELL ON FRISCO BAY—An ex-
waterfront cop, framed on a manslaught-
er charge, is released from San Quentin
and undertakes a mission to clear his
name. Stars Alan Ladd, Edward G.
Robinson and Joanne Dru.
SUNDAY: CPLUMB0—Jose Ferrer plays
Marshall Cahill, a scientific genius,
the head of a brilliantly staffed think
tank. Cahill murders a subordinate who
threatened to reveal Cahill's son who
plagarized an important new discovery.
SUNDAY: THIEF—An ex-con jewel thief
owns an insurance business, a comfort-
able home and is engaged to a beautiful
girl. But he also has a $9,000 gamb-
ling debt and the boys, tired of his
stalling, want their money or else.

MONDAY: BRIGADOON—The delightful
version of Lerner and Lowe's colorful,
tuneful musical fantasy of the little
village in the Scottish highlands that
died in 1752 but comes alive for one
day every 100 years as it did the
day two lost Americans found it and
found love. Stars Gene Kelly, Van
Johnson and Cyd Charisse.
TUESDAY: GUNFIGHT AT RED SANDS—A
Mexican miner's adopted son sets out on
a relentless manhunt to find three out-
laws who murdered his father and stole
his gold. Stars Richard Harrison and
C.R. Stuart.
WEDNESDAY: MY FATHER'S HOUSE—A hard
driving magazine editor suffers a heart
attack and through flashbacks recalls
the gentler days of his youth. Stars
Cliff Robertson, Robert Preston and
Rosemary Forsyth.
THURSDAY: HELLBENDERS—After the Civil
War, a father and his sons ambush a
small detachment .of the U.S. Cavalry.
They rob and kill for the Army payroll
and then head back to Nashville in hopes
of financing and restoring the Confed-
eracy. Stars Gregory Peck, Harry
Guardino and George Peppard.
FRIDAY: THE INDESTRUCTIBLE MAN—A fear-
less killer is brought back to life after
being pronounced dead in the gas chamber.
The experiments of two biochemists
succeed in splitting human cells, causing
ing them to multiply. Stars Lon Chaney,
Marian Carr and Ross Elliott.
Channel 4 program highlights
FRIDAY, 9:10 p.m.—KOJAK—A young gypsy
fortune teller ties in with a gang of
bank robbers when she realizes her tal-
ents are much more valuable to big time
operators. In fact, the plans she makes
for a series of bank robberies are, by
Kojak's own admission, sheer genius.
SATURDAY, 7:35 p.m.—HAWAII FIVE-0—
Series starts. A $1,500,000 ransom is
demanded by terrorists who kidnap a Jap-
anese industrialist's son and hide him
underwater in a capsule containing a 52
hour supply of oxygen.
SUNDAY, 7:30 p.m.—TONY RANDALL— Series
starts. Here's a new comedy series
starring Emmy Award winner Tony Randall
as Judge Walter Franklin, a contemporary
courtroom judge in Philadelphia. Frank-
lin, a widower, lives with his two child-
ren and a housekeeper and he has as many
trials and vexations off the bench.
MONDAY, 7 p.m.—SWITCH—Pete and Mac
wing to Casablanca to secure the release
of an imprisoned Peace Corps worker.
TUESDAY, 8 p.m.—ODD COUPLE—Felix's
daughter, who is spending a few days
with him, runs away because her father
refuses to allow her to attend a Paul
Williams concert. Her new dedication
in life is to follow Paul wherever he
goes.
WEDNESDAY, 7:25 p.m.—WHAT'S HAPPENING—
Roger wants to buy his mother an $8
blouse for her birthday, but, alas, he
only has $2 and so Roger and his pals
set out to raise funds for the gift.
THURSDAY 7 p.m.—CAPTAIN AND TENNILLE —
Guests include David Soul, Art Carney,
Jimmie Walker and special guest Nancy
Walker.
FRIDAY 7 p.m.—CHICO AND THE MAN— Chico
and Ed are hospitalized after an accident
The nurse, who happens to be Chico's
friend, encourages him to seek higher
goals in life. When Chico decides to
enroll in school, Ed borrows $7,000 on
his insurance, and asks a friend to in-
form Chico that the money is his in-
heritance.
