How sweet 30-23
Ladies pounce IR
"How sweet it is," Coach Teresa Ludt
said after their 30-23 victory over IR
Saturday at the base gym.
An improved defense and more aggres-
siveness were the key to the NATO vic-
tory. as practice is beginning to payoff.
Bobbie Gudwin was high point woman
for the visitors with 12 while balanced
scoring was the recipe for the day for
the NATO forces.
The next base game is tomorrow at
4 p.m. against the same team.
Smoker
slated
Weigh in time is from 10 a.m. to noon
tomorrow at the gym for the Wrestling
Smoker slated to begin at 1 p.m.
Anyone wishing to wrestle must weigh
in before being eligible. Awards will
go to the first and second places in
each weight division.
NSGA
games
takes one of two
for the week— 46-45
It was a hard choice to pick the game
of the week between NSGA's 46-45 victory
over AIMD or Air Ops 47-46 win over High
School in court action last week.
In B League action, NSGA pulled out
its win on a last second turn around
jumper after trailing throughout the
game by George White.
AIMD held a narrow 19-17 halftime
lead as Jackie Jansen poured in 11 of
his ,20 points. Bill McCarty handed 17
Valur Club
The Valur Club from Reykjavik stuffed
NATO 88-73 during Thanksgiving week a-
fter leading 44-35 at halftime.
Valur's excellent shooting and super-
ior quickness was too much for NATO's
six member team. The Skykings had
Rick Massingale as high point man with
26 followed by Jon Kristjon with 14 and
Ann! Halsteon with 11.
NATO had four men in double figures
with Bill Schroer holding 20, Pete
McLaughlin taking 17, Oscar Nalley hav-
ing 16 and Pat McPherson to round out
NATO with 14.
points to aid the scoring but no other
points came.
Mike (Pee Wee) Cheatham and George
White were the only players in double
figures for NSGA with 18 and 14 respec-
tively.
Air Ops dumps HS
47-46 in big game
Air Ops pulled out a last second
victory to defeat High School 47-46 in
the second big game of the week.
Jackie Robinson threw in a 25 ft.
jumper with one second left on the clock
to put the game on ice for Air Ops.
High School led 21-13 at the half but
Robinson pumped in five straight 20 and
30 foot jumpers to tie the game at 23.
The lead alternated after that until
Robinson punched in the last basket.
High scorers were Boyd Ingram with 18
and Robinson with 16 to round out AIMD’s
double figure players. John Forsman had
13 and John Souhrada took 11 to be the
Vikings double figure players.
IDF is the team
to beat at racquetball
IDF looms as the team to beat in rac-
quetball; however, it doesn't look like
it will happen often as Pete Hershfield
has recruited an almost unbeatable com-
bination despite the 14-12 and 10 handi-
caps they have to give.
IDF has a three point lead after two
matches however they do age each month,
so maybe father time will cut them down.
