Ambassador's Cup results
Number 11 Petur Gudu, a 7'2" center
presently playing basketball at the
University of Washington, has been a
dominate force for the Icelandic
National Basketball Team. In the first
two games he has scored 47 points and
played the board.
The NATO team led by the great
playing of Bill Schroer has fought hard.
With a definate height disadvantage the
NATO team has to counter with great
shooting and ball stealing.
Saturday's game saw NATO down by 1*7
points at halftime only to come battling
back to within two points with only a
few minutes to go. Iceland then started
going to the big center and opened up a
comfortable lead to take the game 98 to
72.
In Sunday's game NATO displayed
strong playing all the way but couldn't
overcome the high loop pass to Gudu.
Iceland scored 92 points to NATO's 75.
Fishing tournament
Throughout the month of May the
Athletic Office will conduct a fishing
contest. All you have to do is bring
your fish down to the base gym to have
it weighed. If you have the biggest
fish in your category for the month of
May you will win a large trophy and
membership to the Keflavik Fishing Hall
of Fame. Categories include trout,
salmon, pike, cod and haddock. Do not
catch your fish at the fish market.
