Bowling tournament scheduled
The Men's Bowling Association will
conduct a pro-style tournament in June.
As part of the Naval Station's Fourth of
July events program, the Keflavik Men's
Bowling Association will conduct its
Second Firecracker Pro-Style Tournament.
It will begin with a 15 game qualify-
ing round on June 24 and 25. The uop
20 bowlers from the first round of this
handicap tourney will bowl six games on
July 1 with the final top five qual-
ifiers bowling match play for the cham-
pionship on July 2.
Entry forms and tournament by-laws
are available at the Artie Lanes.

Summer swimming
lessons available
Personnel desiring to take organized
swimming lessons may do so during the
summer. The Athletic division has re-
cruited only four qualified water safety
instructors for the summer.
The current WSI will return to
college this fall.
Aid July 4 athletics
As the 4th of July approaches,
special events and festivities will be
the order of the day. To ensure that
planned athletic events come off smooth-
ly, an events committee will be formed.
The Athletic division requests that
anyone wishing to volunteer a few hours
July 4th to call the Athletic Director
at 4558.
Little League needs volunteers
Volunteers are still needed to help
the Naval Station Little League. The
league begins its third week of the sea-
son Monday.
Umpires, coaches and persons to work
in the concession stand are the type of
volunteers the league is seeking. No
background is required and single and/
or unaccompanied persons living in the
barracks are encouraged to help.
Also, there is still time to register
youngsters for this season. Parents
with league-aged children (aged 8
through 12) who have just arrived at
Keflavik or those with children who may
not have registered earlier may do so
by coming to the Little League field.
The Little League field is located
across from the new Iceland Defense
Force headquarters.
