Women 3rd in tourney
After placing first in the Northern
European softball tournament in Edsel,
Scotland, eight of the Naval Station wo-
men softball players were selected to
compete in the regional European slow
pitch softball tournament in Sigonella,
Italy.
Flag football
league slated
All commands/activities wishing to
participate in the 1978 intramural flag
football league are requested to notify
the athletic division office. A pre-
league meeting will be held Aug. 7 at
1 p.m. to discuss the upcoming season
tentatively starting Aug. 26.
The base women’s team finished a
strong third in the regional European
slow pitch tournament. Sandy Kohler was
selected to advance with the winning Rota
team to the All-Navy championships in
Jacksonville, FL.
Swim-a-rama
The 1978 Boy Scouts swim-a-rama will
be conducted tomorrow in the base pool
between 1 and 3 p.m. Pool patrons are
asked to observe the pool guidelines so
that this event may be held without in-
terruption.
Basketball starts
The 1978 summer basketball league
kicks off Sunday at noon. Twelve teams
are entered in the league, they are
ComSta I, II, II, Seabees, Marines,
VP-56, High School "Wild Bunch",
"Americe", Grindavik, Rockville, NSGA
and Security.
Ladies’ racquetball slated
The athletic division encourages the
women of the base to participate in the
fall racquetball league tentatively
starting Aug. 14.
Even if you have never played the
sport, racquetball rules can be easily
learned and with a lot of practice, mas-
tery of the sport can be obtained in a
short time.
Last year ladies' leagues were well
received and enjoyed by all.
If you cannot form a team, call the
base gym at 4558 and the athletic of-
fice will be more than glad to assist
you in being placed on a team.

ly presents "A Disco Show" featuring
the legendary Doctor Boogie from Las

JEWISH STUDY SERVICE—There will be a
