Page 4 White Falcon August 11, 1978 "WHERE IS THE BALL?" seems to be the question during this baseball play, (photo by Tom Gaines) Clean sneaker ruling enforced According to gym officials, persons who use the gym courts are wearing their gym shoes outdoors and then play in the same shoes. When walking outdoors these shoes pick up pumas in the soft or ribbed soles. As the athlete plays, the soil acts as an abrasive, wearing away the court varnish. Patrons who violate the gym shoes policy will be removed or suspended from the gym facilities. Athletic facility reservations required Effective Monday, an athletic facil- ity reservation policy will take place. Programs or events not directly spon- sored by the Recreation Department or Athletic Division will require using a reservation form. For instance, groups or persons wish- ing to conduct an event or program in- volving an athletic facility, must com- plete a reservation form 24 hours in ad- vance. Using this reservation policy will prevent patrons from having to double up or run into ongoing events. Note: Free times, those periods of the day in which no reservations can be made, will be continued. by David Catling Ba se sports standings SUMMER BASKETBALL LEAGUE Grindavik 3 12 AFI 'A' FOLD TEAM WON LOST Arne Ice o 0 * Qualified for divisional playoffs VP-5 6 2 0 57th FIS I 0 Rockville 1 1 'B' LEAGUE NSGA 1 1 TEAM WON LOST Marines 1 1 AIMD 21 3 High School 1 1 Public Works 20 9 ComSta 0 1 Security AFI 'B’ 21 9 Grindavik 0 2 22 9 Wild Bunch 0 2 VP-56 Gold 18 8 Det 1 18 9 SOFTBALL Det 14 18 9 'A' LEAGUE AFI 'C 15 11 ComSta 'B' 15 12 TEAM WON LOST Marines 14 12 *CFK/IDF 14 2 High School 13 16 *ComSta 12 4 Commissary 8 18 NSGA 10 5 Recreation 7 21 Administration 9 7 NavFac DROPPED Rockville 9 7 VP-56 Blue DROPPED VPO's 7 7 Medical DROPPED Supply 6 8 Air Ops DROPPED 57th FIS 4 10 Weapons DROPPED CFK/IDF champions racquetball league CFK/IDF, guided by the season long FINAL RACQUETBALL STANDINGS leadership of John Drake, captured first place in the men's racquetball league 1st CFK/IDF 56 - 4 which concluded Monday. 2nd Det. 1 46 - 14 3rd 57th FIS 38 - 22 4th NAVFAC 11 - 49 CFK/IDF outdistanced their closest 5th 57th "3" 8 - 52 rival, Det. 1, by 20 points. 6th 57th "A" 3 - 57 (classified ads) Automobiles 68 VW—European specs, five summer and four studded snow tires.
