Registration for the University
of Maryland and Los Angeles Com-
munity College Overseas Term II
will begin Tuesday at the Navy
Campus office in BOQ 638.
Students may register between 8
a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through
Friday until Oct. 20 for classes
which start Oct. 23 and end Dec.
15.
UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND
Featured classes will be Prin-
ciples of Economics, an introduc-
tion to the problems of unemploy-
ment, inflation and economic
growth. Taught by Glenn Payne,
this is your opportunity to better
understand monetary and fiscal
policies.
Government and Politics of
Latin America will be taught by
Paul Saxton, who is the Director
of the American Cultural Center
at the American Embassy. Mr.
Saxton previously served in Peru,
Costa Rica and Washington, DC.
The Student and the University
develops more efficient study
skills and habits. Monica
Ackermann previously taught this
course in the Far East Division.
Other courses offered will be:
Production Management, studying
the operation of a manufacturing
enterprise, taught by a specialist
in this area, Rene Smith.
For those interested in de-
veloping effective writing skills,
Expository Writing, a general
education requirement, will be
offered to round out the fall
schedule.
LACCO
LACCO also highlights several
courses this term: Concepts of
Criminal Law, studying the histori-
cal development, philosophy of law
and constitutional provisions,
definitions, legal research, study
of case law and methodology, taught
by Michael Walker.
Human Relations for Supervisors
is designed to develop leadership
through the application of princi-
ples of human relations to the
problems of supervision; morale,
leadership communication, group
dynamics are a few of the topics
to be covered by instructor Frank
Harwood.
Life-saving principles and
procedures will be taught by Linda
Ray Bauer in Emergency Medical
Technician.
Also offered will be: Communi-
cations Electronics.
Two courses for the amateur
photographer include Introduction
to Photography and Color Photo-
graphy.
Other offerings are Reading
and Writing Basic Skills, Basic
Chemistry, Auto Tune Up, Private
Pilots' Ground School, Real Es-
tate Principles and Business En-
glish.
