LEIF ERIESON DAY
Monday is Leif Erikson Day. The
Mini-Mart, Service Station and
Viking Cafeteria will open normal
operating hours. All other Navy
Exchange facilities will be closed.
The United States Navy will
celebrate its 203rd birthday Oct.
13, and the Navy Exchange will fea-
ture a special Navy Birthday Sale
from Tuesday through Oct. 14 at
the Retail Store. Merchandise
specials will be featured in the
jewelry, cosmetics, clothing,
tableware and other departments.
SERVICE STATION SPECIAL
Oct. 13, a free tank of gaso-
line will be given to each cus-
tomer if the automatic nozzle
kops on identical digits, but
ne reading must be verified by
the observing attendant.
The Service Station will have
free coffee and Icelandic pas-
tries for patrons who check out
the specially priced accessories.
For the 203rd customer to pur-
chase accessories during the
week, a free tune-up, parts in-
cluded, will be given.
Service Station personnel state
that Sunday hours of operation will
be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., effective
Sunday. Call for an appointment to
winterize your car. before the snow
falls.
Also, headlights are still being
adjusted. Each car must have a
light adjustment once a year. The
deadline date is Oct. 31.
The Service Station will be do-
ing light adjustments daily after
4 p.m. and all day Saturdays for
your convenience, no appointment
necessary.
Remember to bring ycur Icelandic
registration book.
NEX CAFE SPECIALS
The Viking and Geyser Cafeterias
are getting into the birthday spirit
with food specials from Tuesday
through Oct. 14:
Viking—three hotcakes, syrup and
butter plus' coffee; chicken in the
basket and free iced tea with din-
ners.
Geyser—Italian submarine sand-
wich and free iced tea with din-
ners.
BEAUTY SHOP
Today through Oct. 13, the Beauty
Shop will offer a discount off hair
conditioning treatments. The head
beautician has returned from the
United States with the latest tech-
niques in hair styles.
NAVY LODGE
The Navy Lodge is accepting re-
servations for January, beginning
Oct. 19 from 6 a.m. until 4 o.m.
daily.
