Bowling action
A lot goes on on base at the
Arctic Bowling Lanes.
There are many competitive bowl-
ing leagues that have many person-
nel using the lanes all week long:
Monday has Intramural League
bowling from 6 to 9 p.m.
Early Tuesday afternoon starts
with the Women's League. Intramur-
al bowling takes over at 6 p.m. and
Mixed Doubles, consisting of three
men and two women compete at 9 p.m.
From 6:30 to 9 p.m. is the Kef-
lavik Officers Mix League action on
Wednesday night.
Thursday morning is the Off-
icers' Wives Women's League and In-
tramural bowling starts at 6 p.m.
Guys and Dolls mixed League tops
the evening after 9 p.m.
Friday has All League Iceland
competition at 6 p.m. Couples
Mixed League starts off at 9 p.m.
Saturday morning is crowded and
Christmas tourney
A Christmas Basketball Tourna-
ment will be held beginning Satur-
day, Dec. 23. The tournament will
wind up with its winner, Dec. 31.
Meeting at gym
There will be an organizational
meeting Monday at the gym at 1 p.m.
All those commands or activities
wishing to participate in either
men's or women's competition should
attend.
Floor care stressed
The Athletic Division asks that
you please take care when entering
the gym. Dirt is being tracked
into the gymnasium floor, causing
excessive wear. Please carry your
gym shoes when walking to the gym.
Only clean gym shoes are allowed.
Women’s basketball
The Women's NATO basketball team
now belongs to the Icelandic League.

Leagues until 11:30 a.m. thus fin-
ishing the week's competitive bowl-
ing action.
The four Intramural Bowling
Leagues, The American League, Na-
tional League, International League
and North Atlantic League, compete
on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday
evenings. These leagues contain
12 teams, making a total of 48
teams in the league. At the end of
the season, the two top teams of
each league roll off for the Base
Championship.
Bowler enthusiasts who don't
belong to a team should not despair
in getting a free lane, despite the
constant league action.
Free bowling is offered at the
lanes seven days a week. A minimum
of six lanes are Available for
non-league use from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Also a minimum of three lanes must

AIMING FOR A STRIKE is a Junior
League bowler in the Arctic Lanes.
be in use after 10:30 p.m. or else
the alley has the option of closing
the lanes to conserve energy. All
lanes are open after 1:30 p.m. Sat-
urday, unless there is a league
make-up game taking place.

Gymnastics demonstration
There will be a gymnastics dem-
onstration tomorrow at noon at the
base gym. Participants will be all
those children who have taken gym-
nastics classes offered at the base
gymnasium. The students will dis-
play skills they have learned as
well as routines they have created
themselves.
