PTO meeting set for Monday
The first PTO general membership
meeting for the new year will be
held Monday at 7 p.m. in the A.T.
Mahan Elementary School multi-pur-
pose room.
"One of the agenda items for the
meeting," said Perry Bishop, PTO
President, "is a vote on the dis-
tribution of more than $6,500 re-
ceived as profit from the 1979 PTO
Carnival last November." These
funds are generally divided between
the elementary and high schools to
assist the educational programs and
students' activities and scholar-
ships .
Also on the agenda is selection
of a committee which will develop a
list of executive candidates for the
next school year and a proposal for
a revised PTO constitution.
PTO meetings scheduled for the
remainder of this school year are:
Monday, March 17 at the High School
at 7 p.m.
Monday, May 12 at the Elementary
School at 7 p.m.
No smoking clinic
begins Monday
The Counseling and Assistance
Center will sponsor a no smoking
clinic for one week beginning Mon-
day between 7 and 8:30 p.m. at the
CAAC office in BOQ 636, first deck.
All military and dependents are
eligible to attend, however, the
size of the group must be limited.

Community Center by reservation
Beginning Feb. 1 the Community
Center, Bldg. 945, will be reserved
only 30 days in advance, i.e. a res-
ervation for the large room on March
10 cannot be accepted earlier than
Feb. 9. Also beginning Feb. 1
all reservations must be made in
person at the Housing Office, by the
person who will be checking out the
keys.
Safety standdown Monday
In compliance with COMNAVAIRLANT
291200Z of Nov. 79, a safety stand-
down will be conducted aboard U.S.
Naval Station Keflavik. Safety
presentations will be conducted at
the Andrews Theater for military
personnel and U.S. civilians on
Monday at 8:30 a.m., and for Icelan-
dic civilian personnel on Tuesday at
8:30 a.m. Further details of the
stand down are published in NAVSTA-
KEFNOTE 5101 of Jan. 7.
Auto registration fee increases
The cost of transferring the reg-
istration of a duty free automobile
at the Icelandic Police Station has
been increased from 5600 Kronur to
8400 Kronur effective Jan. 1. Due
to a delay in receiving notification
of the increase by local Icelandic
authorities, several people who reg-
istered automibles between Jan. 1-9
paid the old rate. However, they
are responsible for the additional
amount and should report to the Ice-
landic registration authorities and
pay the additional 2800 Kronur.

W-2 forms delayed
The Navy Finance Center has de-
layed preparation of W-2 forms un-
til mid-January. It is anticipated
that they will be mailed in time for
distribution on Jan. 30 payday.__
