The basketball court next to the
high school has been frozen for a
skating rink. Skates are available
at gear issue in building T-180. The
number to call is 4554.
The Basketball Base Championship
will begin Monday, Feb. 18.

There will be a meeting for the
coaches of all men's volleyball
teams on Tuesday, Feb. 19 at 5 p.m.
at the base gym. There will be a
meeting for the women's coaches on
Wednesday, Feb. 20 at 5 p.m. at the
base gym.
All rosters for men's and women's
volleyball teams must be turned in
to the base gym by 5 p.m. Monday,
Feb. 25. Volleyball season will be-
gin March 3.

22 for pest control.

The Keflavik Men's Bowling Assoc-
iation will sponsor another no tap
bowling tournament tomorrow and Sun-
day. Bowling will be from 4 to 10
p.m. tomorrow and from 1 to 5 p.m.
Sunday.

There will be an added attraction
of red pin also. When the red pin
comes up in the head pin position a
st“ike will win the bowler a free
game.

The Keflavik Women's Bowling As-
sociation will be holding a head pin
tournament Saturday and Sunday Feb.

In the head pin tourney a bowler
will bowl a three game series, roll-
ing 12 balls a game. If the head
pin is hit then the bowler will
score the number of pins knocked
'down. If missed, a zero will be re-
corded. A perfect game of 12
strikes will score 120.
A F’s Simon bears
torch at Olympics
F.E. WARREN AFB, Wyo. (AFNS)—An
Air Force missile launch officer has
been selected as one of 52 runners
to carry the Olympic torch in a
1,000-mile relay to the XIII Olympic
Winter games which begin Wednesday.
1st. Lt. Steven A. Simon, who
serves in the standardization eval-
uation branch of the 90th Strategic
Missile Wing at Warren AFB, is one
of 26 men and 26 women chosen for
the honor by the Lake Placid Olym-
pic Organizing Committee.
One runner was selected for each
state, plus Washington,' D.C. , and
Lake Placid, N.Y.—the site of the
games. Lieutenant Simon will rep-
resent Wyoming.
The Olympic torch will be ignited
at a ceremony in Athens, Greece, and
then carried to Langley AFB, Va.,
where the relay will begin. The
relay was expected to begin Jan.
31 and conclude at Lake Placid to-
morrow.
Simon, a 1977 graduate of the
Air Force Academy, has participated
in five marathons. He began running
competively in 1977 and has entered
more than 50 races since.
