Philippine feast
Tired of hot dogs and hambur-
gers? Pork chops, steaks, spa-
ghetti and meatballs? Do you long
for something different? Does o-
riental cuisine appeal to your
palate and culinary taste?
If so, visit the USO Sunday,
May 4 at 2 p.m. for a Filipino
dinner which is being sponsored by
the Filipino-American Association
of Keflavik in observance of Asian
/Pacific American Heritage week.
A minimal cost will be charged
for the whole feast and children
under 12 will be charged at a low-
er rate.
The menu will be lumpia (Phili-
ppine eggrolls), fried rice, pan-
cit (Chinese noodles with seven
secret herbs and spices) and
chicken adobo.
High school calendar
The following is the A. T. Ma-
han High School year-end activi-
ties calendar: Tomorrow is the
SAT test 8:30 a.m. in the High
School; The Junior/Senior Prom is
also tomorrow; May 7-8, CPR In-
struction for seniors; May 13, PTO
meeting 7 p.m. in Elementary
School; May 15, A choral presenta-
tion High School and band accompa-
niment .
May 21, Athletic awards assem-
bly ; May 23, Academic awards as-
sembly; May 25, High School Bacca-
laureate 3 p.m. in the Base Chap-
el; May 26, No school - Memorial
Day; May 27 - 28, Finals for sen-
iors; May 30, High School gradua-
tion in the Base Chapel; June 2,
House Olympics.
June 3, Review for finals; June
4-6, Jr. high school semester
exams, and students will be dis-
missed at 12:30 p.m.; June 9, No
school - records day; June 10,
Last day of school, and students
will attend for approximately one
hour; August 11 - 15, Registra-
tion; August 25 is first day of
school.
Summer driving begins
The summer driving season com-
menced yesterday, and will end
October 14.
Usage of studded tires is un-
authorized during the summer sea-
son. The only exception allowed
is an instance of freak weather
conditions.
