Short shots
The Summer Youth Athletic Program
will begin on Monday. There will be
two four-week sessions. Nine to 12
years old from 8 to 10 a.m. and six
to eight years from 10 a.m. to noon,
Monday thru Friday. The Base Gym
is now taking registrations.

Doug Drewry and Willa Dugan fin-
ished first in the men's and women's
divisions, respectively, in last
weekend's no tap tournament, which
was sponsored by the KMBA.
Dugan topped 23 other remale en-r
trants with a 632 and Linda Patrizi
finished second with a 595 set.
The men's division had a little
more success with entries, totalling
139. Drewry topped them all with
the only 700 series rolled during
the two-day event. He had a 722,
Phil Blauvelt was the number two
finisher with a 695. Dan Smith was
third with a 686, Ed Jones fourth at
674 and Patt Ponder fifth at 669.
The remaining winners in the men's
division were Bob Shaffer 667, Frank
Caille 657, Dan Shea 654, Bruce Mi-
chaelson 653, Russ Beard and Tom
Andrews 636, Steve Perry 633 and
George Letke and John Pecue at 630.
Dan Smith and Bob Shaffer shared
high game honors with a 278 and
Willa Dugan's 222 led the women.
Best ball tourney
begins tomorrow
The Women's Bowling Association
will hold a mixed "Best Ball1 tour-
nament tomorrow and Sunday, Bowling
times will be 5-10 p.m. tomorrow and
5-9 p.m, Sunday.
Best Ball bowling is where both
the members roll a first ball. If a
strike is recorded by either, then
the decision is easy. However if
both knock down less than 10 pins
they must decide which ball to play.
If the woman's first ball is chosen
then the man must pick up the spare
and vice versa.
Prizes will be awarded on a one
prize to 10 entry ratio.
