The Ceramic shop offers a wide
variety of molds for your use in the
making of vases, pots, figurines and
more. However, all patrons wishing
to work in the ceramics shop must
attend a briefing by an Instructor
pertaining to proper use of the
equipment.
The Lapidary shop is the place to
go if you are interested in the ma-
king of jewerly. Stones, which you
can buy at the resale store, are
cut, shaped and buffed into gem
stones by using the shop's slap saw,
combination unit, sphere machine and
tumbler, grinding wheel and Sander.
You are not confined to making jew-
erly as other interesting projects
can be accomplished there.
Out the back door to the left is
the Wood shop. Fixing or making
furniture is made easier for you
with saws, drills, sanders, heavy
machinery and delicate hand tools at
your disposal. Plywood, Cherry
Oak arid Walnut are available for
your project.
Hours of operation at the Hobby
Shop are as follow: Electronics
shop, Wood shop, and Lapidary shop
are open from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m.
seven days a week. The Ceramic
pp, Leather shop, Tape shop and
,to shop are open from 9 a.m. to
p.m. every day of the week. All
ops are open Saturday, Sunday and
holidays from 1 to 5 p.m. and 6 to
10 p.m.
Due to the dangerous nature
many of the machines, personnel must
be 16 years of age to use the facil-
ities. Patrons under that age must
have written per-
mission in order
to use the facil-
ity. If you are
unfamilier with
the equipment ask
an instructor.
They are there to
help you with any
problem you
might have.
So, if you feel
the inkling to be
creative and work
with your hands,
why not try the
Hobby shop. It
could make your
tour here more
enjoyable and
productive.
