TV—4 to air WOMAN’S WORLD
During the course of a military
tour in Iceland, many dependent
wives find numerous things to get
involved In. Some wives although,
do not realize what is available for
them to do while here. Television
is limited, unlike the stateside 21-
inch counterpart that is entertain-
ment/action-packed. Television al-
though, is an alternative when the
busy wives have the time.
A new locally produced television
program, premiering on August 1st
called WOMAN'S WORLD has an objec-
tive to reach the women-----military
and dependent---audience. The em-
phasis will ne on informing, promo-
ting good harmony, and giving some
sort of direction and motivation to
get out and get involved!
The show's hostess, Pat Lockwood,
is very knowledgeable and becomes
quite involved with each presenta-
tion and guests' interviews during
the program's taping. Doing things,
community involvement, personal
achievement, and general informa-
tion, all important to women, will
also be emphasized.
Ens. Glen King, the program pro-
ducer, stated "There is a definite
need for such a program on the base
in an effort to get all the women
involved in some way." He also said
that any comments concerning the
program would be welcomed. Efforts
to get the topics that most appeal
to the women audience from the in-
itial idea to the completed on-air
television program is most challeng-
ing to Tech. Sgt. Mike Lynch, WO-
MAN'S WORLD director.
The program is taped each Tuesday
or Wednesday in the Navy Broadcast-
ing Service's TV-4 studio. The pro-
gram consists of two segments each
of which is designed to reach the
objective intended. The premiere
program, which will be airing week-
ly, is scheduled to follow GENERAL
HOSPITAL each Friday afternoon at
3:45.
